Stay in an authentic mountain cabin
The Hogshead Cabin will serve as home base for your mountain getaway. This vintage 1850’s log cabin has been completely restored and expanded to include modern amenities that enhance its rustic charm. With an upstairs loft, king, queen, twin and bunk beds, Hogshead has plenty of room for your family or friends. Take in the mountain views while you sip your coffee in the morning or pause for a nightcap after a fun day in Monterey!
Get a taste of Highland County
Home of Virginia's famous Maple Festival, Highland County's sugar camps make it an annual culinary destination for visitors from Virginia and beyond. But we do more than syrup! Savory dishes from local favorites like High's Restaurant will keep you full, but be sure to save room for dessert from Susanna’s Confections and more!
Experience "Virginia's Switzerland"
We’re the least populous county in Virginia, but we have so much to offer! From agricultural attractions like our famous sugar camps to a bustling arts scene and authentic Appalachian eats and treats, memories await you, your family and friends in our cozy corner of the Commonwealth.
